DREAM 012 [VIDEO/ACTION IN GOLDENROD] - fastfowarded to friday

[ So, guys... Souji has finally done it. He has actually gone out and signed the papers, spoke to the officials, paid out the cash, all that. He hasn't been kidding when he has said he's been thinking about this plan-- well, maybe just a bit but he still has gone out and done it!

That's right, from this day on, Souji Seta is now the proud owner of a Pokemon Breeding Centre.

In a fine house near the entrance of Goldenrod is a centre for trainers or breeders who want to become new owners of different eggs! They can be the eggs that Souji is breeding or if they want to breed their own Pokemon, he's more than willing for them to lend out his Ditto. Heck, maybe someone might want to help him run this centre with him. Some partners will be good for this because that will mean more Pokemon and more Pokemon means more customer, right? Right. Well, it's a good thing he hasn't decided to make a sign or something for this place yet. It might not have been a great idea for him to make a sign like "SOUJI'S EGGS" if he is going to have business partners.

But enough about that, here's some eggs on screen!

Doesn't this look familiar? Souji has been doing this often, so it should be to some people!

The screen turns to face Souji who is behind a counter. He seems pretty relaxed and is dressed in normal wear despite now somewhat being on the job now. Guess this is why it's better to have one's own business.

He takes a sip out of his cup of coffee before speaking; ]

Signed some papers and rented the place for about a month so I guess I now have a breeding centre. It's right by the entrance of Goldenrod if you want to find it. Haven't really thought of a name for the place yet, so suggestions will be nice.

But anyway, I'll be selling eggs for a while now and breeding Pokemon for others if they want. Got a Ditto here that's pretty... [ A pause... How does he describe that his Ditto is a whore... ] ...willing to help out. [ Yeah, that's a good way of putting it. ]

Got a bunch of eggs right now too if anyone wants them. I'll attach a text of what I have and their prices to this. I can deliver the eggs to different cities and locations free of charge. You can buy as many as you want. I don't mind haggling for prices either.

[ Souji is super chill with this stuff. Don't have enough money? He'll give the egg to you for half price or even free depending on what Pokemon it is. ]

Some people have been interested in helping me run this centre when I've asked, so I don't mind running the business with others. I think it'll be easier that way too, so give me a heads-up if you want to.

Thanks-- [ Oh snap, wait! He has almost forgot something. He reaches over to the corner of the counter and picks up one of his business cards. He flips it over to show the gear. ] Do any of you know a "Yu Narukami" around here? I think the printing company has given me the wrong set of cards.

[ He shows the card to the screen and surely enough, there's the name Yu Narukami printed where Souji Seta should be. Oh well and the feed turns off! ]

[HEY PARTNER. Peering at the card over your shoulder. Guess who was too busy cleaning up Jiraiya slobber from his shoes to listen?]

Yu... Narukami? Who's that?

[ A small shrug. ]

Not a clue. Probably someone else in Johto. [ Reaches over to the side of the counter to fetch a different cup of coffee and holds it out to Yosuke. ] This one is for you.

Why would they put them on your cards? That's a weird error. [He kind of laughs, taking the cup of coffee and grinning.] Awesome, thanks dude! I don't think I could get enough coffee these days, seriously...

[ He nods with a small chuckle. He stares for a bit at Yosuke when the cup of coffee is taken, looking a bit hopeful. He doesn't stare for long though since it'll probably come off as awkward. ] Got a discount card from someone at a coffee shop nearby, so I'll get you get all the coffee you want.

[He doesn't notice, because Yosuke is ignorant. He's also kind of looking at his shoes to make sure all the slobber is gone. But when Souji says that, he perks up.] Whoa, seriously?

[ A nod. ] Yeah, but only coffee. You're paying if you want something like a muffin.

Alright, alright! [Sighing.] I should get a part-time job while I'm here. Or there's no way I'm gonna be able to afford even a muffin while paying Valeria-san back.

You can always work here with me. [ Just breeeeding-- wait, that doesn't sound very right... ] And what do you owe Valeria-san for?

Yeah? I mean... if it's cool with you... [He'd feel okay with this. Really.] Oh, I didn't tell you?

[He pulls out a Starly egg from his bag. One-handed. To which he shifts because the egg is moving a lot and close to hatching.] Um... I bought this from her. A Starly egg. But I still kinda owe her some money for it, since I didn't really have much when we made the deal.

Sure. I think I need a hand around here anyway. [ Hope you don't mind carrying around eggs everywhere, Yosuke. ]

[ And Souji just looks at the egg. Huh, it's moving quite a bit. ] How much? I can pay her off for you.

We do make a pretty good team. I sure as hell wouldn't mind! [He laughs. He doesn't really mind the eggs too much. Pokémon eggs are easy enough to deal with.]

Wh-what? No way, dude! [Looks pretty surprised at the offer, but shaking his head furiously.] You can't do that! I-I'll pay her off. Eventually...

Glad to have you on board then, Partner. [ A smile though now, it just turns into a... well, a stare and not very impressed. He places down his cup of coffee on the counter. ]

How much? [ He repeats because he wants an answer. ] I can lend you money for now. [ And when he means "lend you money", he means like "take my money or I'm shoving it down your pants and boxers". ]

[He lets out a really awkward laugh, backing up slightly.] Sometimes I forget how scary you can be when you get all... serious.

Uh... ho-hold on. [He kneels down, placing the cup of coffee next to his feet. Putting the egg back in the bag, he pulls out the notepad with the information on how much he still owed Val.] Th-three thousand.

[ ...Three thousan-- Yosuke... Everyone here starts off with about P2000... Souji isn't even sure if Yosuke has gotten a job here at all, so... what is your money management, seriously...

Souji just reaches into his back pockets of his jeans and pulls out his wallet. He pulls out three P1000 bills and holds it out for Yosuke, shoving the wallet back in his pocket with his other hand.

He's not per say annoyed but just feeling like he wants to shake his head. ]

Dude... [He knows that expression well enough to know that this? Probably a bad idea. He doesn't take the money from Souji's hand, instead frowning as he picks his coffee cup back up.] I can't take your money.

[Yosuke pauses, ruffling his hair. This is making him feel absurdly guilty.] I can just get a part-time job or two and have it paid off in a couple of weeks. It's not a big deal.

[ With a silent sigh, he just takes his money and just shoves it into his pocket, not really bothering to put it in his wallet. He probably needs to use it as change later when someone buys an egg.

He picks up his cup of coffee as well and takes a sip. He smacks his mouth a few times after as quietly as possible. He should have put a little milk into his coffee... ] Try working at the department store when you're not here. It's exactly like Junes.

[His eyes follow the motions and Yosuke can't help but frown. This is definitely the first time in recent memory that Souji's really... reacted that way towards him. Not counting the Namatame incident, of course.]

[Averting his eyes and looking at the lid of his coffee cup, he nods.] Huh... yeah. I could definitely do that. I know how to do that job.

[ Ah... he's looking at the lid of the coffee cup... Souji just stares for a few seconds again and he kinda wishes that Staryubucks has placed their warning labels on the lid, not the sides.

He breaks contact though to look up. Well, good job, Seta. That good mood has been flushed down the toilet. No points there. ] Mm. Just don't spend too much to go into debt. I don't think I can chase off debt collectors for you without my sword. [ Light joking in an attempt to bring back the mood. He isn't really annoyed, but more like he's worried about it. He feels as if he kinda came off the wrong way. ]

[Yosuke looks up, clearly a bit surprised by the change of tone. He lets out a weak laugh, nodding his head. Able to see what Souji was doing, he made his attempt to put the guilty feelings aside.] I'm pretty sure you could just bombard them with, what? A million eggs. That'd keep 'em back.

[ He smiles, both glad that Yosuke is catching onto what he's trying to do and amused at the reply. ] I'm trying to make some money with these eggs, not give it to them so they sell it.

You're making a horrible business partner already.

He-hey, I never said I'd be good at it! [He laughs. Good job Souji, you fixed everything.] I'm pretty sure that's why most places do interviews first.

An interview, huh? [ Souji stands up a bit straighter and places his hands together. ]

Well, Mr Hanamura. Thank you for applying for this job. Why do you think you qualify to work here? [ He speaks in a formal and much deeper tone, though that smile upon his face doesn't seem to be going anywhere sometime soon. ]

[Yosuke does his best to stifle a laugh, walking to the counter and putting his coffee down. Still smiling, he bows formally at Souji. When he speaks, it's in his best DEEP SERIOUS VOICE, a la TV salesman.]

You see, sir, I would be a great asset to your business. I'm very reliable, and would take great care in making sure your Pokémon eggs were tended to properly.

[ Souji catches himself from bursting out into little chuckles by clearing his throat. He strokes his imaginary beard. ]

Oh, that's very impressive. I need a good man like you on the team. Any final words on your performance before I make my decision?

[Yosuke almost loses it when he sees Souji stroking his imaginary beard. Seriously. He coughs, trying to regain his composure and keep the facade up.]

I have previous work experience, and I'm very reliable about being on time. I'll be sure to do anything I can to assist you.
