DREAM 022 [TEXT/ACTION IN GOLDENROD]

[ When Souji has woken up that morning to find Yosuke not sleeping in the bed next to his, he hasn't thought too much of it. Probably has fallen asleep on the couch or something. It's not unusual for one of them to do that, so what's to worry about? But when he hasn't found him on the couch either, he has figured that maybe the other has gone out early for some reason or the other. He shouldn't be too concerned. Yosuke is always the one that has told him that he's too much like a mother and needs to calm down, so he keeps that in mind and goes on with his normal day. It's only after lunch he starts to wonder and gives a call, but instead of getting the chirpy voice message or answer of the gear, he gets this; ]

ERROR: THIS NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE
[ At first, he's stunned. What error? This number is always in use, Souji has just texted it yesterday and it has been fine. Maybe he should just try again. ]

ERROR: THIS NUMBER NO LONGER IN USE
[ No, he must have gotten the wrong number. One more try. ]

[ This is the wrong message. He has probably dialed something wrong. Let's try it again. ]

[ His heart sinks and he immediately storms out of his bedroom, retreating to his office in the Breeding Centre and locks it. ]

[ This is exactly what Yosuke has been so worried about, the fact that one of them might leave. Sure, he might return but what are the chance of his memories returning as well? Yosuke has already left once in Souji's time here and twice before that, and he has never remembered Johto in all those times. What if he returns and he doesn't even remember their relationship? What about everything they've gone through; the argument, the agreement a few weeks later? Is Souji just suppose to forget about it and act like nothing has ever happened between them if the other returns? All those little kisses and hugs behind closed doors, hands held under the table, leaning on one another on empty rooftops, he's really suppose to make it seem like none of that has ever happened? But who can he really go to right now? The only ones that has known about their relationship for so long are Rise and Merlin, but they're gone too. ]

[ In just in the matter of two weeks, some of the most important people in Souji's time here-- no, in his life --has up and disappeared. ]

[ And all he can feel is being crushed by it and how much emptier the house next doors feels without them. ]

The Breeding Centre is looking to hire a few people that can either file some paperwork or run some deliveries to the centre. It's preferred if you can start right away.

[ Souji has pretty much locked himself up in his office in the Breeding Centre and isn't planning on coming out anytime soon. Your character might have noticed him rushing out of the house and right over to the centre, but nothing that can be said will stop him. Good luck trying to bring him out of the office or to open the door, because he's not leaving for at least the whole day... ]

[ By the time Souji has picked up his Pokegear and about to type his message, he hears the knock on the door. He freezes when it's Naoto at the door and takes a few seconds to at least compose himself. He hasn't broken out into tears but he sure as hell sounds terrible. He just answers from his desk instead of getting up to open the door. ]

Sorry, Naoto, but I'm a bit busy right now. Is there something you need?

[ It takes Souji a few seconds to reply back from his desk, trying to at least sound normal. He isn't crying but he's devastated so say the least, he's not going to sound like all rainbows and sparkles. ]

[Now, Jade wasn't aware of the full extent of Souji and Yosuke's relationship... but she did know Yosuke had been important to him, and she knew what it was like to have someone you really cared about just disappear. It had happened to her pretty recently, too, after all. She's pretty sure anything she could say to Souji right now would sound kind of empty, but she still feels like she should say something, so she shoots him a brief message.]

Normally Clive wouldn't care because, honestly, the only reason he tried so hard to cheer Souji up last time was because of that weird mood he was in, but at this point Clive genuinely feels bad for him. He sort of knows how it feels now, having just lost Clover.]

[ There's a short delay before Souji gets to typing his text out and sending it, deciding on whenever he does want one of those eggs or not. ]

[The sad thing is, nothing about the text message really leaps out at Yagyuu the first time he skims through the Gear network—oh, okay, another departure, it's curious how that's been happening with more frequency lately, how odd. Shame to see Hanamura-kun go, he was friendly and generally pleasant. Moving on.

It's not until he's a few posts past that the connection really hits: that it's Souji sending this message, and vague memories begin to stir. A fight next door, Hanamura-kun storming out, Kujikawa-san upset the next day.

It's hard to say why he gets up, dons his coat, and sets out for the Breeding Centre to see if anyone there has seen Seta-kun. They're not friends, not really, and he's not particularly attached to him or Yosuke. But Rise once tracked him down under similar circumstances, and so maybe this is his return of that favor to her, paid forward to the boy she called Leader.

He hesitates a bit when he arrives, good manners keeping him in check as always, but when a cursory glance around the Centre turns up nothing, he decides to try the office, and gives the door a light, questioning knock.]

[ Souji freezes when he hears the knock at the door. What, has someone actually followed him from the house to the centre? Well, he has left rather suddenly and in a rush, so it's completely possible one is just checking up on him. He really wants nothing more than to just think to himself right now, but he might as well answer. ]

[saying goodbye was something Nanako had gotten used to. times change and people change, and sometimes they leave and don't always come back. it's difficult to accept, and she knows that it must be difficult for Souji too. Especially with Yosuke and everyone else leaving. it's funny how she's the one staying behind this time instead of getting sent home.

when she gets the text, Nanako's heart sinks and she immediately sets out to go find him. she's not entirely sure what to do, but she never liked to be alone when she was sad. maybe Big Bro doesn't like to be alone when he's sad too.

so after searching through the whole Center, Nanako finally comes to a stop outside of his office. she lifts a hand to knock but hesitates. eventually, she sits down right in front of it and rests her forehead against the wood. she'll give him all the time he needs.]

[ For the longest time, Souji hasn't even known that Nanako has been right outside his door. Instead, he spends the next hour by feeling crushed and like he can't breath. To really lose so many of his friends (Rise, Merlin, Chie, Nanao, and now Teddie) along with his boyfriend, it's a bit too much to bear. He knows that everyone has told him to stop being the perfect leader, always taking on all the burdens right now and showing no weaknesses, but he can't bring himself to show how defeated he looks right now. ]

[ After that hour has passed, he finally gets up from his desk and begins to walk towards the door. He needs to go wash his face or get a cold drink. He hasn't started crying yet-- he's trying his very best not to, but he needs something to wake him up. However, once he gets up and opens that door, he doesn't expect to see his Lil Sis sitting down there. ]
