Excellent. Why don't you stop by my apartment, and we can start scouting for the pesky feline. She needs a home, and I find the idea of adopting the stray that tried to snatch me up while I was shrunk amusing.

Sounds good. I'll be there in twenty minutes.

[ And, as promised (after Souji gets the address and all that), Souji arrives at Chloe's front door. Knock knock, the Mystery Club is here. ]

[She opened the door and smiled over at him, already in her cloak and clearly ready to step out.]

Ah, Souji, thank you for being prompt. I hope you're up for hunting a stray black cat. The naughty little thing is begging for a spritz, and then a better home so he can learn to behave himself.

[ He reaches into his messenger bag and pulls out a small bag of jerky. ]

I've brought some treats to lure him out with, so we're good to go. [ Souji has a few more things in his bag as well to handle stray cats, so he's ready. ] Where did you last see him?

[She chuckled a little when she saw the jerky and nodded while leading the way towards the park.] Oooh, that isn't a bad idea. I last saw him over this way, by the bus stop a few days ago, when we were small. He often lurks in this area.

[ He'll follow right beside her! ]

Any defining features? Like an extra long tail? Or cute spots?

[She shook her head.]

No collar, very thin and absolutely, one hundred percent black. I got a very good look at its fur when it was trying to pounce Ami and I. Its eyes are kind of a gold color.

Once we find him, we should probably take him to a vet. He's most likely malnourish if he's thin.

[ He reach into his bag of jerky and pull out a strip, holding it out for Chloe. ]

Here. If we leave some pieces around, he might come out from his hiding spot.

I... uh... think it's a her, actually. But yes, once we find her, we should definitely take her to the vet. If I'm going to make sure and adopt her properly, that will be needed.

[She nodded and took a few of the pieces before putting one of them down next to the bench that the cat had found them at the last time.]

They seem to be out around this time of day, so hopefully we will have luck.

[ He'll do the same, just kind of wander off a bit from her to put down some pieces, making a sort of trail. ]

Hopefully so, but you know it's a girl?

I'm... not absolutely sure? But I recall hearing her yowling sometimes in ways that boys don't usually do.

[She followed his lead with the setting up of the bait, dusting her hands once it was done.]

Admittedly, the vet will know for certain.

[ He nods in agreement, putting down some last pieces of his jerky strips as well. ]

And now we wait. This might take a bit of time, so I hope you like waiting.

[ Which means they can discuss other things while all this is going on. ]

[She chuckled softly and settled in with him, nodding.]

I have a pet carrier for if and when we capture her. I definitely do not wish her to end up in the hands of animal control. Sweet people, but I might never catch her if she did.

So... who all have you found for this little venture of yours?

[ ... this is a valid question because Souji has a lot of crazy venturing. The kid knows no chill ]

This... silly! Your detective agency. How many of these strange opportunities do you have going for you right now? Do you have time to even go to school if you can ask that?

What if I told you that I was a time traveller? That I was gifted with a time machine to let me have as many adventures and clubs as I want?

[ He's like Hermione apparently. ]

I would laugh and pat you on the head and enjoy your little jokes while you ignored my question. [She winked at him.] I might even believe you. Who knows? We all have strange stories to us.

Ah, but no. I'm a little curious about the detective agency is all.
