[ Souji laughs as Yu wrestles him against the couch and messes up his hair. He resorts to just holding onto Yu's wrists and trying to pull them away from him. Don't make him bring out the tickle machine. He will bring out the tickling if he must, but as Yu settles down towards the end of it, Souji loosens his grip on Yu's wrist. He... feels happy for Yu. There's this warmth inside him, knowing that his brother feels this way about someone else and that someone makes him this happy. After all that they've been through, he's glad that his brother seems to be catching a break.]

Then let's make him know.

[ Said with this sort of determination behind it. ]

You should give him something or take him out somewhere as a token of your appreciation, to say that you value him.

[ Pretty much immediately Yu locks up all over again. Not as completely as one might expect - his expression stays relatively open. But his whole body tenses at Souji's suggestion, and a slight uncertain frown tugs at his mouth. He'll end up sitting back again, moving out of Souji's space.

He clearly doesn't think that's a good idea. Like, at all. Still, after a quiet moment, he'll try: ]

... like what?

[ Souji's demeanour doesn't change. He's still calm, smiling, just sitting off in his corner of the couch like he wasn't just harassing his twin a few minutes earlier. ]

It doesn't have to be anything big. Something even as small as a gift card or CD is good enough.

To say that "I saw this and thought of you" is casual enough while also meaning a lot.

[ .... slowly: ]

There is something I've been thinking of, but not a physical gift.

[ A small tilt of his head. ] Some time ago I made him a playlist. I hadn't planned on making him another just yet, but.. I could do something like that again.

[ A playlist? This is the first that Souji is hearing about this. ]

Did he like the first one?

[ With a barely-there huff, Yu will reach into his pocket and pull out his phone. Given a moment, he'll pull up a playlist on YouTube, open to a certain song, and hand the phone to Souji. ]

I think so. I tried to find things that would suit his taste. He seemed excited about it.

That's good.

[ Souji takes the phone and just listens to the lyrics for a bit before turning to Yu. ]

... He didn't say anything about this song?

[ ... dude this is kind of obvious ]

No!

[ somewhat incredulous. sighs a lot and lets his chin rest in his hands. ]

I was so nervous including it, and he didn't even seem to notice...

[ Souji just watches Yu. He's starting to feel pretty bad for him... ]

... He's kind of oblivious, isn't he?

"Kind of"?

[ He echoes, soft and incredulous and more than a bit flat. sighs again and just lets his eyes fall shut. ]

[ He reaches over and wraps an arm around Yu, pulling him close next to him. ]

Maybe just a little, but that's not a bad thing. It just means you have to try a little bit harder.

[ Leans gratefully into his twin, letting his eyes open again as he stares down at his lap. ]

... I know. [ with quiet gratitude. ] I'm not sure I want to disturb the way things are, though. I'm not unhappy.

But if things could change for the better, it'd make you happier, wouldn't it?

[ He'll continue to half-hug his brother as they talk. ]

I'll text Keigo in a few days to ask him what's up with Yosuke. Try not to worry too much until then, little brother.

[ It's not until "little brother" that he really reacts; then, he huffs a laugh through his nose and affectionally butts the side of his head into the side of Souji's. ]

I'll do my best. [ Looks up at him properly, with a real smile. ] Thanks, Souji.
