Once you receive the app, you'll start to get back "memories" of a different life. They come suddenly and they'd feel as real and clear as your actual memories.

According to Retrospec, these memories are from the lives we led in the worlds we were at before our current lives.

No, they won't. The person you are now and the memories you currently have are still you. The memories you remember from your other life don't have to define you and it's completely up to you on what to do about them.

There's a lot of support over the network for this line of thought.

[ while akane pushes herself back up to the surface, souji decides to stay under. he has taken a deep breath before going underwater so he figures that he can just stay here and see if akane will join him back down or will just stay up. he actually stays there long enough that the bubble helmet starts to form and he doesn't even need to hold his breath anymore! nice! he looks around and sees that the other passengers of the ship are also getting the same air bubbles around their heads so akane would probably get it too, right? no need to worry about drowning so with that in mind... ]

[ ... souji starts to tug on her foot downwards. ]
