A young Souji (perhaps seven years old) trails behind three other boys as the one in the lead loudly asks in disbelief that Souji is transferring. Souji asks if he didn't mention it and the other boy yells back that he didn't. He asks what they're going to do now since if he leaves, it's going to leave a gap in their soccer club's team. Souji weakly laughs before the boy in the lead yells "forget you!" and takes off with the other children. Souji just smiles sadly as he watches them leave and walks home alone.
